The Laszlo Institute of New Paradigm Research (LINPR) fosters open transdisciplinary inquiry into current science-based conceptions of the human being and his and her world. New Paradigm Research is a transdisciplinary inquiry into humanly and socially relevant ideas and conceptions emerging above all in the sciences, but also in social media and other areas of contemporary culture. The purpose of the publications sector of the institute is to articulate a coherent, meaningful view of the human being and his or her world, based on cutting-edge scientific research. The Institute brings together open-minded and dedicated scientists and lay people from all parts of the world and all walks of life, to develop the emerging ideas and communicate them to people in their particular fields as well as to society at large. The primary publishing platform to facilitate the communication of this research is World Futures: The Journal of New Paradigm Research.

World Futures is a prestigious, peer-reviewed scholarly journal (published by Taylor & Francis). The aim of the journal of new paradigm research is to research, develop and articulate the new paradigm of cosmos, life, consciousness and society emerging at the cutting edge of contemporary research. The journal encourages the application of new ways of thinking and approaches that draw on the intersection of the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities.

World Futures welcomes critiques of limiting assumptions, as well as the development of new perspectives, on human nature, consciousness, society, and the nature of the universe. The journal is focused on the exploration, articulation, and application of human potentialities, and the implications for building a sustainable and humanistic future. World Futures is edited by Ervin Laszlo.

The Laszlo Institute of New Paradigm Research has been associated with the World Futures journal since its inception and offers a platform for the publication and dissemination of high-end research resulting from the work of LINPR’s Research Fellows and Research Leads, among others.

A similar, complementary role is played by Our Cosmic Society (OCS) journal. OCS shares LINPR’s perspective that the current materialistic scientific paradigm needs to be transformed into a consciousness-first scientific paradigm, based on universalistic spiritual-humanistic-ethical values, toward creating a better and more socio-economically balanced society. The close symbiosis between Our Cosmic Society journal and the aims and objectives of LINPR and the World Futures journal is further manifest by the Director or Research at LINPR being on the Editorial Board of Our Cosmic Society journal.

The universalistic socio-spiritual-humanistic approach supported by Our Cosmic Society journal considers that everyone is be able to develop their full potentials as human beings, individually and in society, guided by the ideal of ‘Self-realization and Service to all Human Beings,’ while caring for the whole living world. In this way, Our Cosmic Society journal also serves the vision and research interests of the The Laszlo Institute of New Paradigm Research. In today’s world, there is a growing need to address the serious problems facing humanity. In this regard, Our Cosmic Society journal working closely with LINPR and the World Futures journal can help to develop new knowledge across academic fields, providing guidelines for a more progressive society. This helps promote deeper thinking, sensing and feeling among the people, toward the cultivation of a bright future for humanity.

Positive-impact companies: Toward a new paradigm of value creation – Science Direct

By Ignacio Pavez, Lori D. Kendall, Chris Laszlo. The increasingly visible effects of climate change, the degradation of ecological systems, growing income inequality, and high levels of stress and disengagement in the workplace have dramatically increased corporate awareness of the need for integrating sustainability into business strategy. However, the focus of this awareness has largely emphasized finding ways to reduce the firm’s harmful impact from “bad” to “less bad” (e.g., when a company cuts its CO2 emissions by 50%). While this helps firms be less unsustainable, it diverts their focus from creating a more flourishing world, a place where people everywhere live in healthy communities, prosper, and can live life to the fullest. We propose that it is time for leaders to shift their thinking, and for companies to refocus their efforts, from reducing harm to making a positive impact, which we define as increasing economic prosperity while contributing to a healthy regenerative natural environment and improving human well-being.
