global online symposium the new paradigm in cosmology

On behalf of Ervin Laszlo and all our colleagues at the Laszlo Institute of New Paradigm Research, we are pleased to extend to you a special invitation to join our upcoming free of charge, two-day global online symposium on “The New Paradigm in Cosmology”, scheduled for Saturday, December 4th, through Sunday, December 5th, 2021.

Cosmology is the study of the origin and evolution of the cosmos. Throughout history it has served as the backbone for all cultures, as it explains humanity’s place and role in the cosmos. Today, in our modern scientifically based culture new paradigm cosmologies are emerging which though based on science tend to mirror ancient spiritual revelations. By uniting science and spirituality these cosmologies serve as the foundation for an emerging new paradigm; a shift in human consciousness upon which a more equitable and sustainable world will form.

During this upcoming symposium, leading cosmologists will present their latest thoughts and theories. They will explore what led to the big bang, the role of consciousness in the cosmos, how consciousness interacts with the brain, the nature of reality, the non-dual aspect of existence, and non-locality. We will also explore the process through which past scientific paradigm shifts occurred, and the cultural and spiritual impacts of emerging new cosmologies. We will also hear about ancient Chinese cosmology, and soul’s cosmic quest. The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion which will explore topics including: the convergence/divergence of the various cosmologies presented, the possibility of combining elements of each into a single cosmology, and whether it is imperative that science embrace the new paradigm cosmologies.

Question that the panel will discuss:

  • What features do the various cosmologies have in common? How do they diverge?
  • What common goals do the various cosmologies share?
  • Is it important that the science community accept new paradigm cosmologies?

It is the Laszlo Institute’s mission to provide a platform for research into various aspects of the emerging new paradigm. As this new paradigm will affect all aspects of life, the Institute adopts a transdisciplinary approach, embracing research in the natural and the social sciences, education, health, business, and the domain of spirituality.

Daily Schedule

DAY ONE

Saturday, Dec 04

Start: 11:00 am EST – 8:00 am (PDT)

Welcome: Alexander Laszlo, Director of Research at the LINPR

Opening Remarks: Ervin Laszlo, President of the LINPR

Introduction to the Work of the Symposium: Richard Blum, Symposium Director

In the first session we will hear from several leading new paradigm cosmologists. Each has developed a cosmology from a unique perspective. One approach starts with existing science and illustrates how it reveals that the universe is a unified, holographically manifested entity with an impulse to evolve from simplicity to complexity. A second approach hypothesizes that existing science is not complete as it is unable to explain consciousness. In order to be complete, consciousness and free will must be seen as fundamental aspects of nature from which quantum mechanics and classical mechanics emerge. A third approach hypothesizes that in order to make existing science complete, scientific and spiritual cosmologies must be combined into a single vision resulting in a new framework of physics that explains the origins of the cosmos and the role of consciousness in its evolution.

  • Start: 11:30 am (EST) – 8:30 am (PDT)
  • 1 1/2 hours
  • 25 minutes presentation each
  • 5 minutes questions and answers

Breakout Session 1: 3:45 pm (EST) – 12:45 pm (PDT) | 20 minutes

Audience Discussion – “Has a Particular Cosmology had an Affect on Your Life?

In this session we will continue to explore additional new paradigm cosmologies. One approach views the physical universe as the product of one’s own consciousness. Another approach presents the universe as being guided by information from hyper-dimensional semantic fields. Also in this session, we will explore the impact cosmologies have on cultures as well as the process by which new paradigms become accepted.

Richard Blum
The Existence Framework

The Existence Framework begins with the recognition that science is not complete; it cannot reconcile quantum mechanics with general relativity, explain what caused the big bang, nor explain consciousness, and that in order to be complete a new framework of physics must take into account what lies beyond the universe by combing scientific and spiritual cosmologies. The union of cosmologies is achieved through the hypotheses that existence is a fundamental component of the cosmos, in the same manner that matter, energy, space and time are the fundamental components. With the introduction of “existence particles” (quantum of existence/consciousness) serving as the link between the physical and the transcendent realms, as well as being the building blocks of space-time, it becomes possible to develop theories that solve the unsolvable problems facing science.

Federico Faggin
The Nature of Consciousness

After describing the origin of his motivation to study consciousness and free will and how he reached the hypothesis that they are fundamental aspects of nature, the author will outline the main points of a theory of reality developed in collaboration with the quantum information theorist G. M. D’Ariano. In this theory, quantum information supervenes on consciousness and free will, quantum physics supervenes on quantum information, and classical physics supervenes on quantum physics. Three of the many crucial consequences of this theory are: (1) ontology and creativity reside on conscious experience, (2) the combination problem that beset panpsychist theories has been resolved, and (3) classical computers cannot be conscious. This falsifiable theory places consciousness and free will at the center of the universe.

Jude Currivan
The Cosmic Hologram: a cosmology of a conscious and evolutionary Universe

How the latest scientific evidence at all scales of existence and across numerous fields of research is revealing that our Universe exists and evolves as a nonlocally unified and holographically manifested entity. How its emergent wholeworld-view scientific framework is showing the primacy of mind and consciousness where the reality of our Universe is made up of meaningful in-formation; with energy-matter and space-time as emergent and in-formed phenomena of nonphysical realms of causation. How it describes a universal evolutionary impulse from simplicity to complexity with emergence based on in-formational flows, collaborative processes and relational patterns are driven, not by random occurrences and mutations but through profoundly resonant and harmonic interplays of forces and influences, in-formed and guided by underlying fractal attractors of causation.

Deepak Chopra
Nature of Reality

Deepak will present a cosmology based upon the premise that everything exists within one’s own consciousness.

Ghada Chehade
Cultural Impacts of Cosmology and the Paradigm Shift Process

Dr. Chehade will explore cosmology’s impact beyond science, looking at how cosmology historically influences and shapes the broader culture. She will also discuss the paradigm shift process and the current crisis in modern-day cosmology. Drawing on the work of Thomas Kuhn, Dr. Chehade will argue that contemporary cosmology is headed towards revolution.

Dr. Adrian Klein PhD
A Hyperdimensional Information-driven and Sub-quantum-Inspired Cosmology?

The presentation would address basics of a hyperdimenisonal cosmology as background for time-symmetric events, that run under Informational guiding originated in hierarchically organized higher order semantic fields. The coupling mechanism of Information to space-time constructs will be discussed, with special emphasis on the brain/consciousness interface, as well as the retrocausation and free will patterned in sequentially pre-determined schemes. Some pertinent applications of this concept will be shortly displayed for exemplification purpose, as related to the borderline parapsychological tenets of after-life and reincarnation.

Summary and Conclusions: Richard Blum – 4:00 pm (EST)

Amit Goswami
Quantum Integration of Science and Spirituality

The biggest accomplishment of quantum worldview, as shown in the book The Self Aware Universe, is to integrate science and spirituality. The integration involves clarification of oneness of consciousness, how consciousness manifests in the brain and in life, and how consciousness can exist in both unconscious and conscious states. The wisdom traditions did not give a clear pathways from the ego to a spiritual being – by giving us a theory of the creative process, the quantum worldview helps elucidate the epistemology of spirituality as well.

Anne Baring
The Dream of the Cosmos: a New Cosmology

My Presentation will briefly explore five different cosmologies which have influenced Western civilization: those of the Lunar Era of the Great Mother, the Solar Era of the Great Father including The Myth of the Fall, Kabbalah, Scientific Materialism, and the New Cosmology currently emerging. It will explore the relationship between the feminine and masculine archetypes manifested in these five cosmologies and will show how our relationship with this planet and the cosmos has been affected by them. Finally, it will show how a new emerging cosmology offers hope for our survival as a species and restores our forgotten relationship with an intelligent, living and sacred cosmos.

Anneloes Smitsman
Applying the Cosmic Architecture of Consciousness for a New World Paradigm

The Cosmic architecture of Consciousness is the informational architecture of life, which in-forms and potentiates how worlds come into being, evolve, and die. Our human world is in crisis and dying, because we have created informational systems and growth models that are not coherent with this informational architecture. By applying the Cosmic architecture of Consciousness in the ways we design, grow, and develop our human worlds, we learn and discover what it means to become architects of life-centered thrivable worlds, a New World Paradigm.

The Existence Framework

Richard Blum’s research focuses on uniting concepts from science and eastern spirituality into a single vision. His Existence Framework offers a comprehensive vision spanning from the events which led to the big bang, to the formation of time and space, to how consciousness is generated in the brain, and concludes with an explanation as to why it is possible for humans to experience the infinite transcendent reality. His multidisciplinary approach was inspired by his college advisor and Nobel Prize winner Herbert Simon while at Carnegie-Mellon University. He is a follower of the spiritual master Meher Baba, and he has made many visits to his retreat in India, as well as being active at the Meher Center in Myrtle Beach, SC where Richard resides. Now that he is retired from his software development business, he is focused on developing his cosmological framework. His books, articles and videos can be viewed on his website.

ACTIVITY IN THE FIELD OF CONSCIOUSNESS STUDIES & RELATED PHYSICS
I am 77 years old and a lifetime experience in the research of consciousness studies in a post-materialistic perspective, both in theoretical and experimental domains. I dedicated all my work to the quest for the real nature of human consciousness, following new conceptual tracks, after all the mainstream reductionist approach variants (envisaging consciousness as an epi-phenomenal aspect of the brain) failed.

I have developed a long term cooperation with outstanding representatives of Quantum/Subquantum Physics and Neuroscientists toward a new theoretic approach to sentient reality and Information structures.
I am member of several international organizations that are recognized for their prestigious work in the study of consciousness, parapsychology, epi-phenomenal aspects of the human brain or those related to life after death and near-death experiences.

I have publicly disclosed a novel Subquantum paradigm at conferences on Consciousness Studies in Bologna, Italy, at the Salzburg, Austria, and Budapest, Hungary, where I presented at the 2007 TSC World Conference the study “Toward a new subquantum approach to sentient reality”. The great interest expressed in these studies led to the invitation to other subsequent international conferences: the Bienal Tucson Conference of the Center for Consciousness Studies, Arizona USA, the Hong-Kong TSC Conference (“SubQuantum perspectives in the Penrose-Hameroff model of Consciousness”), the Science and Scientist Conference Bangalore, India (“Consciousness and causality in a subquantum, time-symmetric perspective”), etc.

My writings were published in different languages and countries. I have pioneered both hyper-dimensional physics (Polydimensional holistic paradigm, a book elaborated and officially authenticated since 1990, but published only in 2019 at the Blue Flower Publishing House, Bucharest) and quantum physics (Bordon, Boyd & Klein, 2009, The coming longevity of the Earth human biomind, Lulu press; Christianto, Smarandache, Boyd, Klein, Nedic, Umniyati & Mešina, 2018, Going Beyond Tesla Recent developments of Laplace Gravitation, SubQuantum Plenum, and Aetherdynamics, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK; Boyd & Klein, 2019, The Inners Workings of Reality, in Old Problems and New Horizons in World Physics, Nova Science Publishers Inc.), thus achieving new understandings that are actually at the base of this revolutionary conceptual framework for approaching the immortal human consciousness as it really is.
Recently, I published two other reference books on the study of consciousness on Amazon. The Reincarnation Process – A Scientific Perspective is a pioneering attempt to approach the most controversial Issue of Reincarnation of the non-physical individual Self in a long chain of serial manifestations in our world of matter and energy, from a novel scientific perspective supported by the most advanced research results around the globe. Interpenetrating Realms – collection of studies, articles, communications (1990 – 2021) is a scientific journey inspired by the latest achievements of a wide inter-disciplinary array of academic exploration results, most of them lately published in high-credential journals and different outlets of scientific mass media.

ACTIVITY IN THE FIELD OF PARAPSYCHOLOGY AND EVP/ITC (ELECTRONICALLY INSTRUMENTED INFORMATION TRANSFERANCE FROM UNIDENTIFIED INTELLIGENT SOURCES)

From a very young age, I was permanently interested in the field of parapsychology, especially the topic of personality survival after physical death. I have been passionately involved in the theoretical study and practice of EVP / ITC since 1965 (when I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the first reports on pioneering work in the field in Sweden and Germany).

After leaving communist Romania (1975), I had access to the wide specific literature of my interest, forbidden in his country. Thus I became updated with the last progresses in ITC research and shortly got the opportunity to meet personally its great luminaries from Germany, France, Luxemburg, Brazil, USA, and some 27 more countries, already organized in the International Network for Instrumental Transcommunication (INIT). After a couple of years, I was elected as the INIT general coordinator, working in this capacity until INIT’s dissolution.

Shortly afterwards, I was the founding initiator of the “ITC Platform” and has coordinated its work since 2000, with the main objective of interdisciplinary scientific integration of ITC, and bringing together the best known ITC authorities from Germany, Italy, Portugal, France, USA, Brazil, and Israel.

I coordinated the ITCP, with particular stress upon information exchange with outstanding representatives of the conventional and borderline scientific community, academic bodies and personalities from various countries and fields of specific concern, and international research projects in ITC.

Since 2004, I have been a member of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Biopsychocybernetic Research, Bologna, Italy (Director Dr. E. Marabini). At its Convention of December 2004, the results of the expert analysis performed upon a well-documented case of spot-bound haunting in Israel, which I have forwarded to the Bologna Lab, was publicly presented and subsequently inserted in the Lab’s Proceedings.

The following year I was elected vice-president and international scientific coordinator of ISARTOP. The organization was a natural and logical extension of a larger humanitarian and scientific project (called Project Mystic Connection) started in 1989. The project was meant to be presented to the UN, in an attempt to recognize an official scientific team, whose purpose was research in the field of transcendental objective phenomena.
